Oswald Rabbit Copics

I thought I’d give this blog a little shake with some inking. And since I’ve been neglecting my recently acquired Copic markers lately, it seemed like the perfect excuse.

I’ve had them for little over a month, and used them twice since. I love the deep ink tones, and how easily they glide.

Anyway, I decided to warm up with a tried and true character from the golden age of cartoons. Good old Oswald the Rabbit, “big brother” to Mickey Mouse. My niece bought herself a stuffed version of this rascal yesterday, and along with childhood memories, it was easy to decide what subject to warm up with. The pencils were straight from reference. Using the markers brought me some art relief. There are always so many thing one doesn’t do because of priorities. It feels good to use them, even if its not for anything fancy, or with a higher purpose. A little practice, and and getting re-acquainted with the tools was nice. What was the experiment here? Just to see how good it feels to ink. Hope you liked it, and thanks for dropping by.
